Group Education training course for staffs working at Methadone clinics (STAR-OM)

Following closely with the intervention activities on Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Contingency Management (CM), on August 19 and 20, 2021, the Center for Training and Research on Substance Abuse – HIV (CREATA-H), has successfully organized a training session on Group Education for staffs working within substance use intervention treatment at Methadone clinic in Long Bien, Hanoi. The course was conducted as one of the main activities of the STAR-OM study framework, including: Screen, Treat and Retain meth-using people with Opioid use disorders at MMT clinics.

At the training session, along with the participation of lecturers and staffs of Hanoi Medical University (in person and online), health workers of Long Bien MMT facility were provided with knowledge concerning Group Education in intervention.

MMT clinics’ staffs have acquired a lot of skills, knowledge; especially, have had opportunities to share practical experiences in intervention and treatment field, and how to deal with challenging situations. At the end of the training course, learners felt confident to perform Group Education at the facility.
