In the afternoon of September 30, the Center for Training and Research on Substance Abuse – HIV, Hanoi Medical University has successfully organized and completed the second session of the online training course: HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH COVID-19.
The training session was joined and presented by health care professionals who had many experiences in providing treatments for HIV and Substance-Use Disorder. Cao Thi Thanh Thuy, Ph.D., M.D., Pham Thi Thanh Mai, M.D., Do Xuan Hai, M.D., shared their knowledge, skills, and real-life experiences regarding counseling, treating, and managing F0 patients who either had HIV or were undergoing MMT at home. The session has attracted more than 50 participants from all cities and provinces in Vietnam.
The session focused on the following topics and issues:
- General information and statistics about HIV and COVID-19
- COVID-19 Vaccination for patients who were taking ARV
- Sharing real-life experiences to support HIV patients who caught COVID-19
- Sharing real-life experiences to support patients who were undergoing MMT during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We hope that your training session has provided useful information for everyone, especially for those healthcare professionals and workers who are providing HIV and SUD treatments.
