In the afternoon of April 28, 2022, the Vietnam – International Technology Transfer Center (V-ITTC), Hanoi Medical University successfully organized the third training session of the online training course, “Common co-occurring disorders among people with substance use disorders”.
In this training session, Cao Thi Thanh Thuy MD, Ph.D. – Hanoi Medical University Hospital, discussed the topic “Diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis C – Chances of a cure for Methadone-maintained patients living with HIV”. The training session was joined by more than 25 students who are medical staff from Methadone treatment centers and medical centers in the country.
The training session focused on the following main topics:
- The current situation of hepatitis C in the world and in Vietnam
- Progression of hepatitis C
- Diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C among methadone-maintained patients living with HIV
- Monitoring treatment of hepatitis C among methadone-maintained patients living with HIV
- Treatment of hepatitis C in some special cases
Through the third training session, the Vietnam-International Technology Transfer Center (V-ITTC), Hanoi Medical University, and the lecturers have provided scholars with useful knowledge related to hepatitis C among methadone-maintained patients living with HIV and shared about practical experiences of working with patients.
