Research training ‘Screen, Test and Retain meth-using people with Opioid use disorder at MMT clinics’ (STAR-OM)

On October 27-28, 2020, at Hanoi Medical University, the HIV Substance Abuse Research and Training Center organized a training program for research assistants from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The training session aims to provide detailed instructions in implementing the research as well as exchange and share the difficulties that may be encountered in the coming time.

Prof. Le Minh Giang – The main researcher of the project has made an overview report on the intervention model, research object, the role of research groups as well as highly appreciates the role of ethics in research.

Besides, there is also the participation of Prof. Hoang Thi Hai Van – Head of Global Health Department, with coordinators and lecturers from Hanoi Medical University.

During the training session, the assistant team members were gathered into practice groups and discussed to give opinions about the advantages and challenges of implementing the research. At the end of the training session, the research team in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City agreed on the method and process of conducting research to achieve high efficiency.

The two units directly responsible for implementing the project, Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, also pledged to exchange, share and support each other throughout the process.
