Vietnam – Hiv & Addiction Technology Transfer Centers network: achievements, transition and sustainability

In July 23, the Network of Centers for Technology Transfer of Addiction and HIV Treatment in Vietnam (V-HATTCs) organized the Workshop “Improving the capacity to treat substance use disorders in Vietnam: A sustainable future of V-HATTCs network ”.

The workshop aims to summarize the contributions of the V-HATTCs network in the treatment of substance use disorders and HIV prevention in Vietnam in the period of 2011-2020, the contributions of the Department of Substance and Health Services Administration American Psychiatry (SAMHSA) for the period 2005-2020 and discuss future maintenance and development plans for the V-HATTCs network.

The Network of Technology Transfer Centers for Treatment of Addiction and HIV in Vietnam (V-HATTCs) is located at 3 universities (Hanoi Medical University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and University of Labor and Social Affairs), with funding from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The seminar was attended by 120 representatives of: government agencies (Government Office, National Assembly Office, Supreme People’s Court, Ho Chi Minh City Disease Control Center; Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs). and Social Affairs; Department of HIV / AIDS Prevention; Department of Social Evils Prevention; Department of Social Evils Prevention of some provinces / cities and Methadone clinics in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City ); representatives of the university (Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hanoi Medical University, University of Labor and Social Affairs, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Minnesota); representatives of international organizations (SAMHSA in Southeast Asia and Vietnam, SEA-ATTC, PEPFAR, UNODC, UNAIDS); representatives of CBOs and non-governmental organizations (Life Center, SCDI).
